Catalytic converter thefts are on the rise. Thieves are stealing the exhaust control device for their precious metals. While all types of automobiles are being targeted, larger vehicles that sit higher, like trucks, are more susceptible.
Arkansas Attorney General, Leslie Rutledge speaks with RFD-TV’s own Janet Adkison on what she has been seeing in the region, what advice she has for residents, as well as her lawsuit regarding broadband.
According to Rutledge, “This has been a dramatic increase... over the last year or so, as the price of these precious metals have gone up and being sold on the black market. What we’re hearing from farmers and vehicle owners... is that these are being stolen to have access to that rhodium that is located in the catalytic converters being sold on the black market. But, they are being left with thousands of dollars in expenses to replace these catalytic converters.”
