War in Ukraine Sparks Concerns Over Global Food Shortages

The United Nations says it is addressing the potential for a global food crisis as a result of the war.

The Secretary General announced the creation of the United Nations Global Response Crisis Group. They will focus on food, energy and finance. Many Ukrainian farmers are now fighting the Russians instead of planting food. Ukraine provides more than half of the World Food Program’s wheat. The agency warns of a global economy meltdown. The United Nations says Ukraine has gone from being the bread basket of the world to the bread lines.
