Where Rubber Meets the Field: Goodyear to use dandelions to make rubber tires

Goodyear is working to make rubber out of dandelions.

They are planting a species of the weed in hopes of commercializing a source of natural rubber right here in the United States.

Demand is high, and rubber remains a key raw material in the tire industry. The company says the creation of a domestic source will help mitigate supply chain challenges.

The dandelion species being used is native to Eastern Europe and Asia.
