Electric co-ops warn of the potential for rolling blackouts this summer

A Wisconsin farmer says on top of all the recent stress in the ag industry, he is now concerned about having electricity.

Tony Mellenthin raises crops just east of Minneapolis. He told Brownfield Ag News he recently got a letter from his power company warning of potential rolling blackouts this summer.

He said he has never received a letter like this and fears America is not ready for a big push to green energy.

Electric companies across the country have sent similar warnings as the summer heat continues to stress the systems.
