Utah imposes partial fireworks ban due to wildfire concerns

Across the Four Corner region, Utah is taking extra precautions this holiday weekend.

Taking a look at the latest drought monitor, the state is covered in red, meaning the majority is experiencing extreme to exceptional drought. Because of that, fireworks are banned in parts of the state this 4th of July to prevent wildfires.

So far, Utah has had 245 wildfires this year, burning more than 5,000 acres. Another concern is the looming water crisis, which has fire departments worried about containing fires.
