Striking A Deal: U.N. officials remain hopeful Ukraine and Russia will agree to export Russian ammonia

Senior U.N. officials say they are hopeful Russia and Ukraine will soon be able to agree on a deal to resume exports of Russian ammonia.

These exports were not part of this week’s extension of the Black Sea grain deal. One official told Reuters, “there are elements of that agreement that have to happen between the two countries. We have reason to believe that there is interest for that to happen.”

The Secretary-General of the U.N. Conference on Trade and Development says they are optimistic it could happen.
