NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) As help continues to pour into Southwest Kansas, one group stood out. This group of students 330 miles away chose to make a personal sacrifice to help the victims of the wildfires. Seniors from Axtell High School drove five hours to donate the money for their class trip to the fire victims instead of going to Kansas City. The students said that the trip to deliver the money was much more memorable than their class trip would have been.
Overall the students donated $2,200.00 to Ashland and that money will be divided amongst six different families with children in the school district that lost their homes. If you are interested in donating to relief efforts for the wildfires check out the options listed here.
