The latest Hogs and Pigs Report held few surprises.
Analysts have crunched the numbers and say they have a good outlook for the coming weeks.
“What this report is telling us is that I don’t think there was any real big surprises. What this report says, more or less, there are more hogs available. But more or less, the market appears to be fairy well-balanced in terms of the number of hogs coming in the way that they’re being throughput at least the next couple weeks and months,” said Michael McConnell.
McConnell says he is keeping an eye on the national pigs per litter rate, saying those numbers are still relatively high. He says that has been a pattern for more than a year now.
