The Sooner, The Better: Don’t wait to pick the perfect Christmas tree

Your Christmas trees might cost you a little more this year.

With Thanksgiving behind us, it is time to pick the perfect Christmas tree, and farmers say the sooner you do your tree hunting, the better.

Those who want a real tree will be able to get one, but finding one a few days before Christmas might take a little bit more time.

What will we pay for a tree this year compared to last?

“We do think prices will be a little higher, maybe 5 to 10 percent,” said the National Christmas Tree Association’s Tim O’Connor.

O’Connor says supplies are tight this year and waiting too long to find a tree could be problematic. The Association says like all other producers, they are battling high input costs, with prices to ship those trees up as well.
