High Path Avian Flu continues to take hits as a third dairy worker has been diagnosed in Michigan.
The worker reported respiratory symptoms but is recovering, and there is no evidence of human-to-human spread. Health officials stress the risk is low, though workers exposed to infected animals face higher risks.
Also, USDA just announced they will be providing $824 million to combat HPAI in livestock. This is in efforts to enhance a voluntary program for dairy producers to monitor and mitigate disease spread. It will go towards rapid response efforts and supporting research for vaccines and food safety.
