The U.S. Department of Agriculture released a proposal rule with new requirements that better aligns with the “Product of USA” label claim with better understanding of what the claim means.

It allows the “Made in the USA” or “Product of USA” label claim to be used on meat, egg products, and poultry only when they are obtained from animals born, raised, slaughtered, and processed in the U.S.
