NEW ORLEANS, La. (RFD News) — Hundreds of women from around the world gathered in New Orleans this week for the Women in Agribusiness Conference.
FarmHER + RanchHER host Kirbe Schnoor caught up with FarmHER Liz Fielder Mergen at the event to talk about her experience in agriculture and the different paths women can take in the industry.
Fielder grew up on a cow-calf operation and later became a nurse practitioner before returning to agriculture. She now runs a flower farm and agritourism event venue.
The conference highlighted entrepreneurship in agriculture, including the challenges of starting businesses outside traditional farming.
