John Deere reveals the first fully autonomous tractor for crop production

John Deere has revealed the first fully autonomous tractor that is ready for large-scale crop production.

The reveal took place at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The machine combines Deere’s 8-R Tractor, Truset enabled chisel plow and GPS technology.

Deere says that the cutting-edge technology will help farmers ease the need for on-farm labor and the data collected while the automated tractor is working in the field will help them be more efficient.

This autonomous tractor will be available to farmers later this year.
