Back in March, 12-year-old Tyler Grimshaw reeled in a monster sturgeon from the Snake River. The 9-foot, 11-inch river monster ties the Idaho state record.

Tyler had almost an hour battle with the fish before reeling it in, measuring it three times to be certain, and eventually releasing it. He was with his father and a guide from Jones Sport Fishing.

“A fish of this caliber, I mean, it doesn’t come around very often. I have caught and seen hundreds of these fish. It’s what I do for a living and this one was truly special,” the guide stated, KTVB 7 reported.
