2021 Ag Appropriations Bill will fully fund loan programs, support innovation, and bolster ag research

It has been a wild year for farmers and ranchers.

Senator John Hoeven of North Dakota, Chairman of the Ag Appropriations Committee, says that Congress kept that in mind for the 2021 Ag Appropriations Bill. He says that it fully funds farm loan programs, supports rural innovation, and bolsters ag research.

Some key aid to farmers:

  • The bill maintains support for crop insurance and other Farm Bill programs

  • It increases funding for farm direct, guaranteed, and emergency loans

  • It contains $10 million dollars for mental health support for farmers and ranchers

  • It adds $400 million dollars to the Reconnect Broadband Pilot, which brings internet to rural areas.
