A vaccine for African Swine Fever is being developed but it may still take a couple of years until it is available on the farm.
National Pork Producers Council Chief Veterinarian Dr. Liz Wangstrom says the vaccine shows great promise, however, they still need a company to adapt the research into a commercial product at a high enough concentration to count as a vaccine.
More testing would be required prior to federal approval.
