Ag Commissioner Sid Miller on ag conditions in Texas following winter storm

More than half a million residents in Texas are still without power following a winter storm.

As cold temperatures continue, Ag Commissioner Sid Miller issued a “red alert” regarding agriculture and the food supply chain.

Miller speaks with RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender on current conditions, where he is seeing the biggest impact, and how the State Department of Ag is helping.

“We’ve got some food security issues here in the state. We’re dumping about 8 million gallons of milk every day; our poultry people are hurting too... we have little baby chicks freezing to death, no heat in the incubators so the eggs aren’t going to hatch... our dairies are running out of feed... We’re doing everything in our power to get through this,” Commissioner Miller states.
