Ag exports helped support more than one million jobs in 2020

Agriculture exports were a significant contributor to the nation’s employment sector in 2020.

USDA data shows more than one million jobs on and off the farm are tied to exports, which were valued at more than $150 billion.

Farm activities generated by exports supported nearly 440,000 jobs, mainly in crop and livestock production.

Another 424,000 off-farm jobs were supported in the services, trade and transportation industries, and food processing activities created another 162,000 jobs.
