American Farm Bureau says there is hope for another stimulus bill

Agriculture losses from COVID-19 are still weighing on the industry.

Farmers, ranchers, dairy, and biofuel producers still face tens of billions of dollars in losses. That is after the $30 billion dollars already offered through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program.

American Farm Bureau’s Public Policy Director says that there may be some hope with the 116th Congress in their current “lame duck” session.

According to Ryan Yates, “With a narrow margin in the 117th, I think leadership would like to start fresh. I think they’d like to get this done so that they can begin the new administration and a new Congress without lingering business that’s left over from the previous Congress.”

Margins of control in each legislative body have narrowed, but majorities are not expected the change.
