A Colorado bald eagle nest that is being featured on a 24/7 livestream now has an egg.

The nest camera is run by Xcel Energy which has put two cameras in the nest to monitor the animals.

Eagles typically lay eggs in the middle of February and hatching occurs in late March or early April. According to Xcel, 40 eaglets have hatched on the nest cam since its inception in 2003.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service believes there are about 16,000 nesting pairs of eagles nationwide.
