Brittany Pozzi-Tonozzi is a two-time World Champion and has earned over $2 million in her professional career and the Texas cowgirl has a chance to add $1 million to that total at AT&T Stadium this weekend.
Pozzi-Tonozzi qualified for the finals of RFD-TV’s The American with a run of 13.877 in the semi-finals, which was good enough for 7th place among the 10 barrel racers who earned spots in the finals.
Pozzi-Tonozzi has had a successful start to the 2020 season. She won the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo where she won $3,270 in the finals along with her $6,622 for winning the average with three runs that totaled 44.15 seconds. She continued her impressive start to the season with a win at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Thanks to those wins she enters the finals of The American No. 1 in the world standings with almost $60,000 to her name in 2020.
The 13-time NFR qualifier is a self-proclaimed barrel racing addict who first gained professional status when she was just 18-years-old and when she was 19, she qualified for her first National Finals.
In 2007, when she was just 23, she earned single-season record with earnings of $259,713 to win her first world title. She followed that up by breaking her own record with almost $280,000 in 2009, more than $123,000 coming at the National Finals.
Pozzi-Tonozzi qualified for NFR every year between 2005 and 2013. She has also qualified each of the last thee years.
Horses are a huge part of her life outside of competition. She and her husband, two-time NFR team roper Garrett Tonozzi, have a breeding business with about 50 horses in their care.
