The National Milk Producers Federation is sending a warning to FDA.
In a letter, the group says that dairy product mislabeling by manufacturers of synthetic, cell-based dairy ingredients must end, calling out unidentified lab-engineered products along with highly processed food additives and preservatives.
NMPF CEO Jim Mulhern directly references the Bored Cow brand saying “it is baseless, preposterous, and absurd to call the resulting product milk.”
He goes on to say that it is in the best interest of public health to end the charade before it gets out of hand.
