NASHVILLE, TN (February 9, 2024)...Texas Female Artist of the Decade, Bri Bagwell, announces the release of her latest single “The Rescue” - a heartfelt tribute to her beloved rescue pup Whiskey out today on all streaming services. With sparse acoustics, bellowing baritone electrics, and Bagwell’s crystal clear vocals front and center, the song’s message shines brightly, sure to touch listeners from the very first note.

Give It A Listen

A self-proclaimed highway warrior, Bagwell lives her life on the road performing well over 120+ dates a year. Fittingly, that is where she met her pup Whiskey and their story began, “I found my dog ‘Whiskey’ in the middle of the road south of Austin, TX in 2019. She was cold, hungry, and tested heartworm positive. We immediately became an inseparable duo, and she is now a healthy road dog with her own fluffy sweaters and ear-protecting headphones for the stage.”

Written with fellow Texas songwriter, Helene Cronin, it was an incredibly personal song right from the start. “I wanted Helene to write it with me because any time I attempted to write a song about my dog, I would immediately start crying,” Bagwell shares. “I don’t know how I would ‘do life’ without Whiskey. I was in an unhealthy relationship when I found her, and I truly believe that she gave me the strength to get out of that toxic cycle. I don’t wonder ‘who saved who’ because I know that she saved me more than I saved her.”

To celebrate the single, Bagwell will host a special Galentine’s Day livestream concert Feb. 13 with Whiskey, inviting fans to tune in to her Facebook & YouTube channel with their own fur babies. All donations from the concert will be given to the New Braunfels Humane Society and Safe Haven Las Cruces. To add more fun to the evening, Bri will also be mixing up a signature cocktail featuring Devils River whiskey, for which she is a brand ambassador. All who donate will also be entered to win a special prize back from Devils River.

A familiar face at Bagwell’s shows, Whiskey often takes photos with fans and can be spotted side-stage in her headphones; she even has her own merch. Bagwell has had a fantastic start to the year performing on NBC’s Lonestar New Year’s Eve airing in over 37 markets nationwide as well as multiple shows under her belt including Steamboat’s MusicFest and Mile 0 Fest in Key West. It looks like the duo is doing just fine.
