California almond produces expect an excellent 3 billion pound crop, despite a few broken tress that had to be removed.
The crop was so big that some trees got so large they blew their limbs break and the they blow over when winds are strong. Almond farmers refer to these as “limb busters.”
“We’re looking forward to getting this crop off, getting it to market and hopefully we’ll see an uptick in pricing,” almond farmer Matthew Efird said.
California is the No. 1 producer of almonds in the world.
