The cattle market opens trade on expanded limits again today. The industry is waiting for updates on the Tyson beef plant fire in Kansas. On Tuesday, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association sent a letter to market regulators asking them to ensure no manipulation. Clean up crews have already begun to clear out the damage and traders believe the plant will not be offline for as long as originally believed. The beef plant is responsible for roughly 5 percent of total U.S. beef production.
