Child Injuries and Fatalities in Ag

Agriculture is a harsh and sometimes dangerous industry. Now that children are out of school and back at home, the danger for them needs to be acknowledged.

RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison reports that an estimated one child every three days dies from an ag related accident, 47 percent of which involves transportation equipment. It is estimated 33 children a day are injured in agriculture.

In the years from 2001 to 2015, 48 percent of occupational injuries occurred to young workers.
