Concerns mount over seasonal workers getting into Canada

Concerns mount on seasonal workers getting to Canada in time.

At first glance, it appeared temporary foreign workers would flow relatively freely in 2021, but that may not be the case.

Shaun Haney, the Host of RealAg Radio, speaks with RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender on why this is a recurring issue, the potential costs involved, and how to fix the situation.

“All of this is related to new COVID-19 travel related restrictions that the Canadian government has put in place... Canada’s seasonal labor force is usually brought to Canada on a mix of commercial and charter flights. With many of the commercial flights canceled... farmers and farm businesses working to bring temporary, foreign workers here will now face added costs and a big time logistical hurdle,” Haney explains.
