Concerns raised around the economic effects and fairness of ag production contracts

Today, most broiler chickens and turkeys are raised by independent farmers under contract to poultry companies. However, concerns often arise around ag production contracts’ economic effects and fairness.

RFD-TV ag law and taxation expert Roger McEowen with the Washburn School of Law joined us on the Market Day Report on Thursday to discuss the topic.

In an interview with RFD-TV’s own Suzanne Alexander, McEowen explains some of the common factors, big takeaways, and the potential concerns over one-sidedness and unconscionable terms in these contracts.
