Corey Geiger joined us to discuss his career in the dairy industry, receiving the Holstein Association USA Distinguished Leadership Award, priorities for young producers, and major takeaways from the National Holstein Convention.

MADISON, Wisc. (Market Day Report Weekend) — The Holstein Association USA Distinguished Leadership Award is one of the organization’s highest honors, recognizing lifetime service and influence in the dairy industry.

Corey Geiger, Holstein USA Distinguished Leadership Award recipient and CoBank’s lead dairy economist, was honored at the National Holstein Convention in Florida last week. He also joined us on Market Day Report Weekend to discuss the honor.

In his conversation with RFD News Anchor Eliza Petry, Geiger reflected on what the recognition means to him and shared highlights from his long career in the dairy industry, the most meaningful moments from his professional journey, and the accomplishments he is most proud of.

Geiger also spoke about the impact he hopes his work has had on dairy producers and the broader Holstein community.

He offered advice for the next generation entering the dairy industry and what they should keep in mind as they build their careers.

Finally, Geiger shared key themes and ongoing conversations among producers at this year’s National Holstein Convention as the event wrapped up.
