Tuesday, November 3rd, is Election Day! This election year has many races that are important to agriculture, as well as a several swing state seats up for grabs. With COVID-19 keeping some from casting their ballots in person, many voters have decided to turn to mail in ballots. Here is a list of states with information pertaining to mail in voting deadlines.
Ag Races to Watch:
California - Postmarked by Election Day and received seventeen days after Election Day.
Georgia - Received by the time polls close on Election Day.
Iowa - Mail in ballots must be postmarked by one day before Election Day, and received by noon, six days after Election Day.
Illinois - Postmarked by Election Day and received fourteen days after Election Day.
Indiana - Due by noon on Election Day
Kansas - Postmarked by Election Day and received three days after Election Day.
Kentucky - Received by 6 PM Election Day.
Minnesota - Postmarked by Election Day and received seven days after Election Day (by mail); or by 3 PM on Election Day, if delivered in person.
Mississippi - Postmarked by Election Day and received five business days after Election Day (by mail); received three days before Election Day (in person).
Nebraska - Received by Election Day
North Carolina - Postmarked by Election Day and received by 5 PM, no later than nine days after Election Day; delivers in person by Election Day.
Texas - Postmarked by Election Day and received day after Election Day.
Swing States:
Florida - Received by 7 PM on Election Day.
Michigan - Received by times the polls close on Election Day.
Ohio - Postmarked no later than day before Election Day and received ten days after Election Day, or delivered in person on Election Day.
Pennsylvania - Postmarked by Election Day and received three days after Election Day (by mail); delivered by 8 PM Election Day (in person).
