Ag groups are praising the confirmation of USDA’s second in command.
Dr. Jewel Bronaugh will be sworn in as the department’s Deputy Secretary. She previously served as the Virginia Ag Commissioner and State Director for USDA’s Farm Service Agency. Before that, she served as the Dean of Agriculture at Virginia State University.
In 2019, Bronaugh launched the Virginia Farmer Stress Task Force to raise awareness on mental health challenges in agriculture.
