Energy Independence: Lawmakers say now is the time to reduce reliance on foreign sources

Farmers are particularly vulnerable to high energy prices, and after a drastic reduction in domestic energy output over the last few years and renewed tension in the Middle East, a number of ag lawmakers are concerned about the potential impact of rising costs.
