Europol arrests two in JBS ransomware attack

The U.S. is calling for two suspects in the JBS cyberattack to be extradited from Romania.

The Justice Department announced the arrests yesterday.

The attack earlier this year halted production across the country, at plants that process a fifth of the U.S. meat supply. Europe says that the suspects are linked to 5,000 computer infections. They reportedly received $580,000 dollars from those hacks, even though JBS paid $11 million in ransom.

That attack impacted about 1,500 businesses that all rely on the same internet provider.
