Farmer in Wales saves his sheep from being buried alive in the snow

An arctic blast has brought a hefty amount of snow in parts of Wales, and in recent says, the storm has intensified. According to local meteorologists, the weather could cut off rural communities in the north and impact travel over the next few days.

Gareth Wyn Jones is a farmer in Llanfairfechan, Wales, who has sheep. He took to social media to give updates on conditions in his area, saying the wind was the real problem for his animals.

“The wind will drift the snow onto these areas, and what happens is the sheep go for shelter and then they get covered in it, so buried alive...I’ve opened the gates from the higher ground,” he tells BBC.

Gareth says after checking in with his sheep, they are keeping strong.
