FFA Week 2026: Celebrating Alumni Day with Central Region VP Claire Woeppel

Claire Woeppel, Central Region Vice President with the National FFA Organization, joined us to discuss Alumni Day, the lasting impact of FFA supporters, and why honoring that legacy matters during National FFA Week.

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA (RFD NEWS) — It’s National FFA Week, and today the organization is marking Alumni Day, recognizing the mentors, family members, and community advocates whose influence extends far beyond the classroom and into lifelong leadership development.

Claire Woeppel, FFA’s Central Region Vice President with the National FFA Organization, joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report to highlight the importance of alumni and community support in shaping student success.

In her conversation with RFD NEWS, Woeppel shared that her own FFA journey is deeply rooted in family tradition, with multiple generations involved in the organization, making the legacy aspect especially meaningful. She emphasized how alumni play a critical role in sustaining local chapters by serving as mentors, advocates, and champions for agricultural education. Their involvement, she said, helps ensure students have access to opportunities that build confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of belonging.

Woeppel also reflected on her experience at the Washington Leadership Conference, calling it a turning point that shaped her leadership philosophy and commitment to service. Growing up on a production beef operation in Nebraska, she said those early lessons instilled values of responsibility, hard work, and empathy—qualities she now brings to her role as a national officer.

As Alumni Day continues, Woeppel encouraged current members and supporters alike to recognize the individuals who helped guide them along their FFA journey, noting that feeling seen and heard is at the heart of effective leadership.
