Final Hemp Ruling Takes Effect Monday

The final rule on hemp developed under the Trump administration becomes official on Monday.

The Biden administration reviewed the measure and decided to proceed as is.

The standard increases the hemp sampling window, offers flexibility in sampling standards, and allows additional options for “hot hemp” disposal.

Another decision on requiring hemp testing labs to be registered by the DEA was delayed until December of next year. The industry also wanted to increase the 0.3 percent cap on THC levels, but that requires congressional action.

In December, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul introduces a measure that would increase the hemp THC limit to one percent.
