NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) Wildfires have turned deadly in Oklahoma, where blazes have scorch more than 300,000 acres. Officials say a man in Roger Mills County died as a result of injuries sustained in the “Rhea Fire,” while a woman in Dewey County died from the same blaze, after being trapped in her vehicle.
More than 500 firefighters are battling those flames, while in Woodward County, the “34 Complex Fire” is 25 percent contained and shrinking. Emergency officials expect tough fire conditions to continue through at least TuesdayThe Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association is accepting monetary donations, 100 percent of which will go to ranchers affected by the fires. Meanwhile, on the northern plains, ranchers are scrambling to locate newborn calves ahead of an April blizzard in Nebraska, South Dakota, and parts of Colorado. Parts of South Dakota have already seen more than two feet of snow, and more may be coming later in the week.
