After months of tension in the port of Odesa, the first ship carrying grain has left Ukraine. The Sierra-Leone flagged carrier left port carrying 26,000 metric tons of grain, heading for Tripoli. Nearly 18 million tons of grain have been sitting in storage since Russia’s invasion.
Analysts do not expect the first round of shipments to bring a drop in food prices as wheat remains nearly double the cost it was five years ago.
According to this tracker, the Razoni is making its way through the Black Sea after leaving the port of Odesa. From here, it will move south, crossing through Istanbul, and eventually making its way into Lebanon over the next couple of days.
