From Pasture to Plate: Louisiana Women in AG visit local broiler farm

Over 30 women from the Louisiana Women in AG Convention and Expo recently visited Mahaffey Farm to learn what it takes for broilers to go from field, to plate.
Owner Evan McCommon says, " I hope that they’re encouraged to work in regenerative agriculture or at least buy it they eat from that system and realize that they’re small farmers out there doing things in a really great way that creates more nutritious more valuable food for the community that they can participate in so participation.”
Broiler production accounts for most of the poultry in Louisiana and is the largest animal AG industry in the state.
