Gas prices are projected to fall for the second year in a row in 2024.
Gas Buddy expects U.S. gas prices to average $3.38 per gallon, even in the election year, down from last year’s $3.51 per gallon and even more so from 2022’s average of $3.95.
With the ongoing conflicts in Russia and Ukraine, and Israel and Hamas, Gas Buddy sees Americans spending about $32 billion less on fuel this year compared to last, and $79 billion less than in 2022.
Currently, AAA reports today’s national gas price average is $3.09, which is down $0.01 from yesterday’s average. Diesel is at $3.98, up $0.01 from yesterday.
