MIDVILLE, Ga. (Farm Monitor) — Georgia growers are navigating another unpredictable season after shifting weather conditions created challenges for several crops.
Farmers and experts at the Midville Field Day told the Farm Monitor that cotton went from extremely dry conditions early in the season to heavy rainfall that disrupted planting. Despite the difficult start, the crop is generally looking good.
Peanuts have also faced uneven conditions, but improved rainfall has growers expecting a good average crop after two years of severe drought. The next several weeks will be critical as harvest approaches.
