New research is shedding light on how consumers view the meat industry.

Researchers at 210 Analytics say 65 percent of Gen Z consumers believe meat belongs in a healthy, balanced lifestyle. 52 percent believe the meat industry has a good track record on animal welfare, while 22 percent say otherwise.

47 percent think the industry is committed to ethical sourcing of animals while 58 percent want an animal welfare rating program here in the United States.
