Increasing soybean yields through nutrient inputs

A new study highlights soybean yield opportunities through nutrient inputs. Genetic advancements, along with current market prices, have some farmers rethinking how they manage their fields.

Dr. Shaun Casteel, a Soybean Extension specialist, speaks with RFD-TV’s own John Jenkinson on how ammonium sulfate can impact rural economics and why sulfur has become more popular.

According to Dr. Casteel, “Yield response to sulfur and ammonium sulfate is one that we’ve looked at, amongst others. It’s been as high as ten to fourteen bushels, which is pretty phenomenal. Now, that’s not going to be every acre, but there are some fields that are being quite responsive to this... There is some excitement around this.”
