“It is really one of the most serious droughts I can remember,” according to one Oklahoma farmer

The latest Drought Monitor was released this morning and it shows wide variations across the U.S.

Heavy rainfall fell in many areas including southwest and western Kansas which improved conditions slightly. However, moderate and severe drought expanded in the New York City area, central Great Plains, and upper Midwest. Texas had some improvements with local rainfall, but drought continued to worsen in most of the state.

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau shares one farmer’s story about how he is fighting the dry conditions on his own operation.
