Japan Deal Could Come Next Wednesday

President Donald Trump could secure a mini trade deal with Japan as soon as next Wednesday.

The president will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and White House Adviser Larry Kudlow teases “we might get something” when they do.

Reports say Japan wants a written commitment to exclude the country from auto tariffs, but there’s no word on that exemption. Earlier this week we learned the Asian nation plans to reduce the 15% tariff on U.S. wine over seven years in exchange for access for Japanese beef. Japan will also lower its U.S. beef duties from 38% to nine percent by 2033.

The Wednesday meeting will take place in New York City.
