Jimmy Fortune Shares His View On Country Fans

Country singer Jimmy Fortune stopped by the RFD-TV booth during the 2017 CMA Festival in Nashville, TN. The talented star from the Statler Brothers talked about classic country music and his new solo album in between signing autographs and meeting fans.

“Classic country music is all about the fans. I was with The Statler Brothers for 21 years and we knew that the fans were the magic that kept us going. If we catered to those fans with good country music, stuff that they can depend on, those fans are loyal and will follow you to the end of the earth.

“The Statler Brothers retired in 2002 and since then, those same fans have followed me on down the way. The heart of country music is the fan.”

Jimmy Fortune has a new album called “Jimmy Fortune: Sings The Classics,” which features both country and non-country songs such as the Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody,” Glen Campbell’s “Southern Nights” and John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” among others. Ricky Skaggs, The Isaacs, and the Voices of Lee joined him on the album.

Jimmy and The Statler Brothers were inducted into the GMA (Gospel Music Association) Hall of Fame on October of 2007, and inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in June of 2008.
