Leadership GFB Program Takes Georgia Farm Bureau Members to D.C. and Beyond

The new initiative is helping agricultural leaders strengthen their advocacy and leadership skills.

BLUEMONT, Va. (Farm Monitor) — A group of agricultural leaders recently hit the road for Washington, D.C., and Virginia as part of a new leadership development program from Georgia Farm Bureau. Organizers say Leadership GFB is designed to help participants build confidence while preparing them to take on larger leadership roles within their communities and the agricultural industry.

Women’s Leadership Program Coordinator Heather King says the program is geared toward Farm Bureau members who are already involved and want to continue developing their skills.

“Leadership GFB is a new program for Georgia Farm Bureau members who want to increase their advocacy and leadership development skills,” King explains. “We’re looking for members who are already engaged in their Farm Bureau who want to take their leadership skills to the next level and also their Georgia Farm Bureau involvement to the next level.”

She says the program gives participants experiences beyond a traditional classroom setting while helping prepare them to become stronger leaders in agriculture and their local communities.

Leadership GFB is part of Georgia Farm Bureau’s effort to help farmers and ranchers build a stronger voice for the industry.
