The opening ceremony for the Summer Olympics is just two days away, and there is one athlete heading to France that is no stranger to rural America.
Elle Purrier St. Pierre has had major success on the track but it is her rural roots that got our attention. She comes from Montgomery, Vermont, where she grew up on a 40-cow dairy operation. Today, she still lives on a farm with her husband and son.
Elle will be competing in this year’s Paris Olympics for the 1,500 meter and the 5k.
