Louisiana Ag Commissioner on current conditions in the state following winter storm

Producers work to recover from a second winter storm this week, bringing more ice and snow across the southern plains.

Louisiana Ag Commissioner Dr. Mike Strain speaks with RFD-TV’s Tammi Arender on current conditions in the state, what ag regions have been impacted, and how the state’s Department of Ag is helping.

“We’re starting to run low on fuel and supplies, especially in some of the outlying regions. So, we’re really hoping by Saturday that this will all pass and warm up, and we can literally start the process of standing things back up and getting the information to everyone... we’re concerned about our strawberry crop and our citrus industry here in the southern part,” Dr. Strain states.
