CADDO PARISH, La. (TWILA) — House Speaker Mike Johnson met with Louisiana farmers during the August recess at the home of a local cattle producer to discuss the challenges facing agriculture.
The roundtable brought together producers from across the state, who raised concerns about high input costs, labor shortages and unfair trade practices affecting commodity prices.
Johnson said agriculture remains a top priority in Congress, while attendees said the meeting gave producers an opportunity to share their concerns directly with lawmakers.
